Welling wanted to reach a new level in the combination of shape, function, comfort, detail, and esthetic. The idea behind the collection was to develop a chair that works well around the dining table, around a conference table, as well as in a restaurant, cafeteria or at the office. Due to their simple and plain design, the chairs can be combined with many types of furniture and interiors.
In 2021, renewed the surface treatments of its wood furniture by replacing their paints and lacquers with more environmentally friendly, water-based alternatives. Please note that due to this, natural wood furniture now comes with only one lacquer option instead of the previous two: the new water-based lacquer is glossier than the matte lacquer previously used, but slightly more matte than Hay’s previous clear lacquer.
